We Could Brag About The Quality Of Our Boats. But We’d Rather Let Others Do It For Us.

Beyond the specs, features, options, and photos on this website, if you really want to know what makes a World Cat different – and better – than a monohull boat, ask someone who owns one, or tested one, or tests boats for a living. You’ll be surprised at how pleasantly surprised they were.

Take a look at what veteran boaters, diehard fishermen, industry experts, and perhaps some of your neighbors, have to say about World Cat. Then, take a no-obligation sea trial, and see for yourself. If you are already part of the World Cat family and want to submit a testimonial, let us know via our contact form or by emailing [email protected].

I’ve been driving monohauls since i was 10 years old. This is the first cat I’ve ever driven and I’ll never go back! It blows my (previous) 32 ft intrepid out of the water! I run the boat in the rough seas surrounding the Turks and Caicos Islands and the boat quite literally gallops over any wave… at the same time, it can get into shallow waters with ease and is perfect for beaching it on deserted islands. Well done, World Cat!

255DC

Keith Germain

When I was researching the 255DC, I read over and over again that she was a bit of a fickle-running hull. Some said prone to porpoising, some said she needed permatrims, and many said to run her trimmed up as much as possible. I didn’t find this to be the case at all. After having the boat for roughly 3 months and putting 60 hours of fishing, ocean running, dock and dining, and sandbar visits on her, here’s what I’ve learned so far. She definitely comes with a learning curve. Depending on the load and sea state, sometimes she likes a little trim, sometimes she likes a lot of trim– and she’s happy to let you know when you’re not giving her what she likes. Perhaps counterintuitively, she was hardest to figure out on flat-calm days. Calm days are few and far between on the Jersey Shore. The best indicators for me that she’s happy with her running angle are the absence of porpoising, and an mpg between 1.8 and 2 when cruising. Anything else and I’m usually over or under-trimmed. More often than not, I was over-trimming. Once I got her figured out, though, she’s been a great ride and a fantastic, versatile boat. She’s a great fishing boat for a dual console, and the fact that I can fish all morning, hose her down, put the cushions back on and turn her into a family dock-and-dine ride in the same day is exactly what I hoped I’d get…

The Trinh Family

230DC

The Trinh Family

To whom it may concern, I have been meaning to write this email for a while but chose not to do so until now. I’ll explain my reasoning for doing so later on in this e-mail. My family purchased our World Cat 230DC from Gulf Coast Marines (Jeff Ivie) in November of 2019. We met Jeff at a boat show in Houston a few months prior to our purchase. Jeff was attentive to my family’s needs and wants in a boat and made suggestions I did not know or think to ask based on those needs. I am an avid offshore angler. I’ve owned 3 different boats prior to making this purchase. As much as I love being out on the water and enjoy fishing I was not able to do so for the same reasons I’m sure most boat owners like me have or don’t have (time & money!). When I really wanted to, I can overcome most of the obstacles keeping me off the water but one. MY WIFE & KIDS GET SEASICK!! I can’t express how torn I am at times because of this. Go out with some buddies on the boat or spend time with my wife and kids? The wife & kiddos usually win. They want to spend time with me on the water but are not able to do so because the moment the boat starts rocking back and forth, all 3 are sick. The opportunities to take the boat out as a family…

World Cat

My wife and I were had our first experience with a World Cat in August of 2008. We were at Manasquan Inlet in New Jersey while a northeaster raged off the coast. We watched two people in a center console World Cat run out the inlet into very large waves, turn around and come back in. We watched in awe for nearly an hour as they repeated their run. Little did we realize at the time that this would lead us to becoming World Cat owners. At the time, we owned a 33’ Wellcraft Sportbridge. Ten years later, we wanted to downsize as our current vessel was getting too large for us. As we tried to decide on how to move forward, my wife told me that she wanted a new boat – one that no one has been on before. Right next door to our boat yard was a World Cat dealer – Schrader Yacht Sales. Before visiting the dealer, I did extensive research on line about World Cats. What I discovered impressed me. There wasn’t a very large inventory of used World Cats and it seemed like World Cat owners were almost “cult” like in their love of the brand. As we did our research about the World Cat, we remembered our first experience ten years earlier. We wondered why we hadn’t thought about it sooner. We decided that our next boat would be a World Cat. We met with Kevin Schrader and he informed us that the…

Algen Boat

Algen from Orange Park, FL

I was in the market for a modern family boat that could do it all, fish the flats, run off shore, provide a stable smooth ride, cut through the chop and wakes and look good while doing it. Unbelievably the 280DC-X ticked all of the boxes.

In the 41 years that we have owned boats, the 255DC is the finest boat that we have ever owned. My favorite t-shirt reads “Never Underestimate An Old Man Who Owns A World Cat.”

Our dealings with Schrader Yacht Sales were wonderful. The 255DC met all of our expectations and more. My wife has multiple sclerosis and we have a son who uses a walker. We wanted to be comfortable on the boat and return to doing things that we hadn’t done in years and things that we have never done during our 41 years of boating. We want our son and his family to enjoy boating with us.
