The Countdown Is On!

Last call to register for Ocracoke.

Join us August 16-18, 2024 for World Cat’s Annual Cat'n Around Ocracoke owners event. Attendance is FREE, and all World Cat owners are invited and encouraged to attend.

Don’t wait! Tickets are first-come, first-served.

For the World Cat family, our owner’s events are something special to mark on the calendar and look forward to all year long, and there’s no better place to meet other boaters and see lots of World Cat catamarans in one place. Just imagine the sun glinting off the waves, the gentle sound of water against the hulls, and a community of World Cat enthusiasts coming together, where they build lifelong friendships that often sail far beyond the shores of the event itself!

Our gatherings are meant for water lovers, where shared experiences create instant connections. Conversations may start with the technicalities of different vessels, the best routes to sail, or the thrill of navigating rough waters, but they naturally transition into deeper discussions about life's adventures, shared sea stories, and a mutual appreciation for the freedom and tranquility of the open water.

CAT'n Around Tips

Essential Safety Tips for Boating

Boating is an incredibly enjoyable pastime that offers a unique sense of freedom and adventure, but it also comes with its share of risks—particularly when it comes to fire safety. One of the most important safety measures for any boat owner is ensuring the availability of fire extinguishers on board.

Boats typically have several fire hazards, including fuel, engines, electrical systems, and in some instances, galley appliances. Plus, the confined space and presence of flammable materials make fire incidents dangerous and challenging to control. And unlike on land, a boat fire leaves limited options for safe escape. Having a fire extinguisher on board can help control or extinguish the fire before it gets out of hand, providing crucial time to evacuate if necessary. That’s why most boating regulations require boats to carry fire extinguishers.

Tip: When purchasing a fire extinguisher for your boat, ensure you select a marine-rated extinguisher that is classified for both Class B and Class C fires. Class B fires involve flammable liquids like gasoline and oil, which are common on boats, while Class C fires involve electrical equipment. Look for extinguishers with the label ‘Marine Type USCG Approved’ to ensure they meet the necessary safety standards for marine use. Additionally, opt for extinguishers that are resistant to corrosion and have mounting brackets for secure storage, ensuring they are easily accessible in an emergency.

Giulia A.

“I’ve been driving monohulls since I was 10 years old. This is the first World Cat I’ve ever driven, and I’ll never go back!” said Giulia A. about his 280CC-X center-console World Cat catamaran. “It blows my (previous) 32-foot Intrepid out of the water! I run the boat in the rough seas surrounding the Turks and Caicos Islands, and it quite literally gallops over any wave. At the same time, it can get into shallow waters with ease, and is perfect for beaching on deserted islands. Well done, World Cat!”

We could brag about our catamarans all day long, but we’d rather let you hear from our incredible family of World Cat owners!
