Join us June 10-13, 2024 for World Cat’s 14th Annual Cat'n Around Bimini owners event. All World Cat owners are invited and encouraged to attend.

Don’t wait! Tickets are first-come, first-served.

Once you own a World Cat, you are part of an extraordinary family—a family that comes together year after year for our owners’ events. That's because World Cat events aren't just about the vessels; they're about human connection.

Imagine the sun glinting off the waves, the gentle sound of water against the hulls, and a community of World Cat enthusiasts coming together, where they build lifelong friendships that often sail far beyond the shores of the event itself.

Our gatherings are meant for water lovers, where shared experiences create instant connections. Conversations may start with the technicalities of different vessels, the best routes to sail, or the thrill of navigating rough waters, but they naturally transition into deeper discussions about life's adventures, shared sea stories, and a mutual appreciation for the freedom and tranquility of the open water.

For the World Cat family, our owner’s events are something special to mark on the calendar and look forward to all year long, and there’s no better place to get cat-scratch fever, meet other boaters, and see lots of World Cat catamarans in one place than in Bimini, Bahamas during our annual owner’s event.

National Safe Boating Week is all about reminding boaters to brush up on boating safety skills and make the most of their adventures on the water by being responsible – after all, the best boating experience is a safe day on the water. As you prepare for a great boating season, inspect your boating safety gear, and make sure you have comfortable life jackets for everyone on board.

The National Safe Boating Council recommends these tips for boaters:

  • Take a boating safety course. Gain valuable knowledge and on-water experience in a boating safety course (options exist for novice to experienced boaters).
  • Check equipment. Schedule a free vessel safety check with local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary or U.S. Power Squadrons to make sure all essential equipment is present, working and in good condition.
  • Make a float plan. Always let someone on shore know the trip itinerary, including operator and passenger information, boat type and registration, and communication equipment on board before you leave the dock.
  • Wear a life jacket. Make sure everyone wears a life jacket – every time. A stowed life jacket is no use in an emergency.
  • Use an engine cut-off switch – it’s the law. An engine cut-off switch is a proven safety device to stop a powerboat engine should the operator unexpectedly fall overboard.
  • Watch the weather. Always check the forecast before departing on the water and frequently during the excursion.
  • Know what’s going on around you at all times. Nearly a quarter of all reported boating incidents in 2022 were caused by operator inattention or improper lookout.
  • Know where you’re going and travel at safe speeds. Be familiar with the area, local boating speed zones, and always travel at a safe speed.
  • Never boat under the influence. A BUI is involved in one-third of all recreational boating fatalities. Always designate a sober skipper.
  • Keep in touch. Have more than one communication device that works when wet. VHF radios, emergency locator beacons, satellite phones, and cell phones can all be important devices in an emergency.

CAT'n Around Tips

Essential Safety Tips for Boating

Did you know that U.S. Coast Guard statistics show that drowning was the reported cause of death in four out of every five recreational boating fatalities in 2022, and that 75 percent of those who drowned were not wearing life jackets? Those are astounding statistics for an easily preventable accident.

Whether fishing or just enjoying a ride on the boat, boaters should wear a properly fitted life jackets every single time they go boating. It’s a non-negotiable! Afterall, a stowed life jacket is no use in an emergency. Even strong swimmers can struggle in unpredictable conditions, and wearing a life jacket significantly reduces the risk of drowning. It's a simple precaution that can save lives and make every boating trip safer.

Tip: When choosing a life jacket, make sure it meets safety standards set by regulatory agencies like the is U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), is appropriate for the water activity, and fits properly.
